Our commitment
Zawadi is built on trust. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can exercise your rights. We design our practices with African data protection principles in mind, including alignment with applicable local regulations.
Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, country, profile photo, and membership tier when you register.
- Activity data: posts, comments, community memberships, event registrations, and shop orders.
- Payment data: billing references processed by Paystack—we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Technical data: device type, browser, and usage analytics when you consent to optional cookies.
How we use your information
We use your data to operate the platform, personalise your experience, process payments, send event reminders and notifications you opt into, and improve Zawadi for the summit community. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data sharing
We share data only with service providers who help us run Zawadi—Supabase (hosting and database), Paystack (payments), Resend (transactional email), and Vercel (deployment). Each provider is bound by contractual obligations to protect your data.
Your rights
You may access, correct, or delete your profile information from your account settings. You may withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time. To request a full data export or account deletion, contact privacy@zawadi.africa.
Retention & security
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as required by law. Stories expire after 24 hours. We employ encryption in transit, row-level security on our database, and access controls to protect your information.
